You may, or may not have heard of Earl Nightingale, an American radio speaker and author, nevertheless, on one of his recordings about “Greener Pastures,” he made the point that every patch of grass, or pasture, looks greener from a distance.

When you’re standing on your own lawn, you see every weed and brown spot and when you look across to your neighbor’s lawn, it looks lush and green, like a well-kept golf course.

But the fact is, grass isn’t always greener on the other side of the fence – it’s an illusion. Just as it’s an illusion that your next subscribers will be the best subscribers who spend the most money with you.

Many business owners fail to mine the gold in their subscribers list, because they’re constantly striving to ONLY acquire NEW subscribers, instead of also placing FOCUS on their current ones.

Another American, Jay Abraham, business executive, conference speaker and author known for his work in developing strategies for direct response marketing, made a huge fortune by focusing on existing businesses, showing them how to best utilize their most under-valued and neglected asset – their current subscribers.

By not leveraging your existing subscriber base, no matter how small, you’re losing out on the huge potential for revenue. Here’re some tips you can implement to extract maximum value from your subscribers, while also giving value.

◊ Learn about your subscribers and tailor offers to match their needs and wants.

◊ Ask them what they want and what you can do for them, as well as what they want to buy right now.

◊ Analyze your subscribers and place them into respective groups based on their responses.

◊ Develop strategies to upgrade them into your higher programs.

◊ Communication is key to build relationships with your subscribers, so communicate with them frequently.

◊ Offer valuable information and fun stuff.

◊ Offer more products and services.

◊ Make offers to them often.

◊ Sell renewable products or services.

◊ Create continuity programs and sell them, and, or sell affiliate continuity programs.

◊ Create VIP groups and memberships with special privileges.

◊ Let your subscribers know you reward frequent purchasers, as well as high volume purchases (if applicable).

◊ Establish, then focus on hyper responsive subscribers and give them more opportunities to work with you.

◊ Incentivize greater usage.

◊ Become the resource in your niche, offering discounts on other people’s products through joint ventures.

Monetization is one of the things most online business owners seem to ignore. They may throw in the odd product/service and affiliate link from time to time but, ignore the big picture.

Implement these tips to get maximum value from your subscribers but, don’t forget to send free quality content occasionally, as well. In fact, it’s a good idea to send 2-3 valuable content emails for every 1 marketing email you send. Your subscribers will be more likely to open your emails if you send them quality, informative content, that will help them.

And, of course, continue to build your list.
