I love, love to travel both nationally and internationally; more importantly, I love working with my clients to help them get the results they’re after.
One of the ways I get the best of both worlds is via my 1:1 VIP Weekend Service, where I go to work with clients in their city and we spend 2-days working on their business, after which, I explore and essentially make a holiday of it. I also travel to many conferences globally and extend my stay to… make a holiday of it.
My highlight is usually the beaches, many of which are found along the Atlantic and Pacific Coast.
I’m blessed to live in sunny Southern California, USA, near many breathtaking beaches, but I’ve also had the pleasure of visiting many others, including Miami Beach, Florida, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and the Hamptons, on the east coast, two of which I’ll highlight here.
EAST COAST
Florida. From Ft. Lauderdale to Miami Beach, Florida is a prime resort area for holidays. With perfect weather and miles and miles of beaches, this area is affordable, diverse, and has a wide variety of water-sports, restaurants, and a myriad of activities whether you’re travelling solo, or with your family. Cocoa Beach is about an hour away from the Kennedy Space Center and Disney World. In addition, Disney’s Vero Beach Resort is considered one of the best in Florida.
Myrtle Beach. Among the many favourite activities are, Ripley’s Aquarium, Le Grande Cirque, a show quite famous for its acrobatics and other circus performers; and Myrtle Waves Water Park. NASCAR Speedpark is popular, also. With a myriad of dining options, shopping, and other historic sites, you’ll enjoy your stay.
East Hampton. A fabulous place for beach-lovers is East Hampton, New York, and a popular place to stay is at the East Hampton House, voted, “the most beautiful village in America,” that’s nestled away on Long Island’s picturesque South Fork.
The rooms are available in one, and, two-bedroom units that contain fully-equipped kitchens and/or kitchenettes, and every room has its own balcony with lounge chairs and a table. Moreover, you have guest privileges at the nearby beach.
The grounds are impeccable and there’s a huge pool (one for the kids, too), where you can lounge in the sun. A tennis court is also available for lovers of the game. Centrally located, The East Hampton House is minutes from town, restaurants, shopping, and a movie house.
WEST COAST
Shifting to the west Coast, some of my clients come to my city, and I recommend a host of places near beaches a stone’s throw from where I live, including: Crystal Cove, Corona del Mar, San Clemente, Laguna, but for now, I’ll talk about two that are a couple of hours away.
San Diego. You can enjoy a stay at the Beach Cottages. Accommodations include one and two-bedroom cottages, apartments, studio and suites. The patio areas are furnished with tables, chairs, lounges and umbrellas for your comfort and convenience and they offer barbecues, shuffleboard and ping pong for your enjoyment.
Steps away from the Pacific Ocean, you can enjoy sunbathing, beach-walking, swimming, surfing, and gorgeous Pacific Ocean sunsets. You may even get lucky enough to catch a rare glimpse of the phenomenon known as the green flash!
The Beach Cottages is centrally located, within walking distance of many shops, restaurants, galleries and stores. Golf and tennis facilities, boating and sailing marinas, Belmont Amusement Park, and volleyball courts are all nearby.
Walk, bike or skate on the “Boardwalk,” to the Mission Bay breakwater. La Jolla, Old Town, Downtown San Diego, the San Diego Zoo, Sea World, the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, and Mexico are literally minutes away!
Redondo Beach. There’s a lot to do in Redondo Beach than walk along the sandy fringe, where it meets Santa Monica Bay. Perfect for a beach holiday. There’re many hotels that are situated across the street from the beach, or within walking distance. Each has its own set of amenities.
You’ll find plenty of things to do, whether you’re going for a day, or a weekend beach getaway. However, most of it is in the area centered on the Redondo Beach marina and pier. But if nothing else, visit the Beach. The sandy part of he U-shaped Redondo Beach is just south of the pier with many restaurants and fast-food stands, not to mention souvenir shops.
In addition, you can rent a bicycle and ride along the ocean front bike path to Santa Monica. Or, go south from the pier to the Riviera.
Like fishing? Go for half-day or longer deep-sea fishing trip from the marina or, rent a Kayak or Paddle board and paddle around; Take a Speedboat ride on the Ocean Racer speedboat. You can also head for the Riviera and visit unique, local shops, salons, and eateries by walking along the oceanfront sidewalk.
You have the choice to swim in the ocean, or in the calm, Seaside Lagoon, that offers a salt water pool with sandy beaches, or both. Heavenly!
What about you, do you incorporate travel with your work? And, if you do, do you make a holiday of it, or do you head back home when it’s over?
Or, If you could, where would you like to ideally visit? I’d love to hear which part of the world takes your fancy. Do let me know in the comments box.

PS. I would love to visit your city, or have you visit mine. Take a look at my services to see if we can work together; we can toss a penny to see who’s going where😊 Failing that, we can always work remote.
That’s a great way to get the best of both worlds by taking time from your business trip to enjoy some of the sites. If in Myrtle Beach again, look me up!
Thanks, Martha, I will do:)
