Email marketing is one of the most effective marketing methods that is used by thousands of small, medium and even large businesses.

However, how you build your relationship with clients/customers, position yourself and your value proposition is fundamental to your email marketing success.

Providing consistent value and honest interaction with your community is what will make it ‘easy’ for you to extend offers via email that converts well.

In this 7-part article series, ‘Boost Your Income By Following Up With Your Customers,’ we’ll cover how to make improvements to your funnel to boost your income.

In article [#1], we covered the value of a customer list, ‘Did you know that your customers make up your most valuable business asset?’

Article [#2], talked about, ‘How to create one-time-offers to instantly boost sales.’

Article [#3], explored, ‘How to make backend sales on autopilot.’

Article [#5], probed into ‘Benefits of promoting affiliate offers to your clients/customers.’

In this penultimate article series, we’ll look at, ‘2 important emails you should send to every client/customer.’

As an online business owner, you spend a lot of time and effort writing emails. You email your list, customers, affiliates, potential JV partners… the list goes on.

In short, a big part of your online marketing efforts is writing emails, and will continue once you’re in business, which brings me to the subject of this post.

They’re two types of emails that I recommend you always send to your clients/customers.

Email #1 – Request Feedback & Testimonials

Check in with your customers after a few days and ask if they were able to download the product they either opted in for, or, bought. Also, ask if they have any questions.

From there, it’s easy to transition into another follow-up email about feedback, and finally, requesting a testimonial, if the product was purchased. Social proof is important and good testimonials can greatly improve your sales conversions, so don’t wait for people to send you one. While it happens, you can get many more by just asking.

Customers are generally open to providing feedback and suggest future improvements, which could result in you updating the product, or you garner ideas for additional products.

The responses you receive will be worth the effort you took to write and send that email.

Email #2 – Invitation To Promote

A few days after asking for feedback and testimonials, invite your customers to join your affiliate program, if you have one. Many of them are already business owners and promote affiliate products, while others are just getting started and seeking their first sale.

This can work even if you don’t have an affiliate program. Simply ask your customers to help spread the word about your product/service.

In our social media world, almost everyone has an online presence, and this means you can tap into free traffic by sending an email and inviting your audience to partner with you.

Of course, this works better with an affiliate program, because you can reward your audience with commissions when they send new customers your way.

Nevertheless, add these two emails after your email follow-up sequence and you’ll benefit from them for months, even years to come.
