As a business owner, it’s  sooo important to use systems and place automating aspects of your business high on your agenda. You’ll feel less frazzled and overwhelmed, especially if you’re a solopeneur and run your business by yourself, so read on to see five tips to systematize and automate your business for efficiency.

Implementing systems and automation not only helps you to work competently, but things will still keep ticking along in your absence (hello, holiday).

A holiday where you can turn off your computer and disconnect from social media, so you can spend quality time with your family, as well as some well-needed R&R, knowing that you’re still engaging with your subscribers and followers. Let’s look at those five tips.

5 Tips To Automate Your Business

Build a Team

Build a team. Whether it’s paid full-time employees, freelancers, or a virtual assistant (VA). Document tasks, create templates, train whoever is supporting you and delegate to them so they can handle tedious tasks. Now you may be thinking that you can’t afford to employ someone full time or outsource, and while that may be true, it could be because you’re on the hampster wheel doing all and sundry, and don’t have time to work on money generating activities.  So, consider the time you will free up to focus in those areas if you invest in a VA, for instance. You want to manage your business, not let your business manage you.

Automate

There’re lots of ways to automate your business, so whatever you can automate without making your business seem human-less, do so. If it doesn’t affect a client directly, automate it. For instance, you can automate your blog posts by scheduling batches, as well as email broadcasts, and your social media posts, etc. Automate any aspect of your business and delegate repetitive tasks.

Partnership

If you cannot yet afford to outsource and, or, build a team, connect with a business owner whose work compliment yours and split tasks. Use each other’s skills and strengths to cut costs, but still get important things that will grow your businesses, done.

Use A Online Calendar

One of the best ways to control the inflow and outflow of work is to create a schedule and use an online calendar. This is especially useful if you’re a service-based business, block out time so clients can see your available times and dates.

Build Up Passive Income

Passive income is money you make from work such as affiliate income from product recommendations, and other activities. Pre-schedule your affiliate offers just like you would your blog, social media posts, and your emails. You’ll earn another stream of income that could likely pay your VA’s salary.

I’m pretty sure when you started your business you had a vision of how you’d spend your day. Maybe you pictured taking random days off to do leisurely activities and go on short and long holidays.

Instead, you ended up spending twelve to fourteen hours a day working with clients, spending hours and hours writing blogs, email newsletters, designing memes… the list goes on and you can’t believe that you’re slogging even more hours than you were when you had a fulltime job.

But all you need to do is systematize, automate, and outsource. Your stress level will disappear… maybe not, but it will be at a low after you delegate those tedious tasks. You can then focus on areas that will build your business and profits and you most certainly can live your vision, or, as I term it, ‘Live Life On Your Terms.’ Not by default.

Cherry-Ann, I love this blog. Automation is key where it can be done. As you said not to be mechanical like for your clients. Great suggestions especially for the new entrepreneur. Thank you.

Thanks, Deb. Glad you found it informative. Yes, not implementing automation in a way that takes one away from their clients is key. Yet, doing so saves so much time.

Those are great tips! The ones I am doing, so far, are scheduling blog posts and social media in advance, whenever possible, and using an online calendar.

Thanks, Jeanine. Doesn’t it make for a less stressful ‘working’ life? 🙂
